It all started with a friend suggesting we checkout the App My State – VIC competition. We had always agreed that part of our weekly business is to return value back to the community so hence the idea was born to create markets app for Victorians and people visiting Victoria.
Not only that — but the challenge to create something really fun was out there. What you have here is a mashup of Google geo-location, google-weather, Twitter, and Facebook all rolled up into a single fun to use app.
It started with wireframe ideas
Next we progress to making the design fast and simple. Cutting out as much of the overhead as we could. While keep access easy. The home page has two buttons, they get all markets near you and open today and the 2nd shows all open markets – one click, that’s it.

Back buttons to go to the previous screens, search always being one tap away, where-ever you are in the app. Smart drop down searches similar to Flickr and the ability to create new markets.
