This is a weekly market and as such you find a lot of stalls that are always there. That's Ok but the items they display is rather static and not altogether at bargain prices. If you just love browsing, and who doesn't? Then this market will easily soak up and hour or more as you make your way around several levels of stalls.
At the lowest level you will find more of the genuine T&T displays and good bargains abound.. Around Oct/Nov you can buy unusual tomato plants from a local grower as well as other garden supplies
We can't imagine anyone needing to find an excuse to visit Daylesford at any time, but be aware that it is located in the Central Highlands and when the weather is a bit iffy elsewhere, it's like to be wet (and colder) in Daylesford.
It is certainly a Must-Visit market on our list, preferably during spring or autumn which the area is renowned for.
There are heaps of other things to see and do in the region, just pick up a brochure or two, then GO.
We visit once or twice annually.

Post visit note.
Today we made a visit to this market after checking out Talbot Town Hall Market since the heatwave week was over and conditions ideal.
But,oh, the number of vendors at both was down by at least 25%, maybe more which was a bit disappointing.
However, this is not a reflection upon these specific markets but country markets in general. Two years ago we visited Talbot in December, just before Christmas and it was also well down in numbers, but not so much as today though. Daylesford was Ok in November that same year.
We have noticed other markets that we frequent often, like Gisborne T&T, Violet Town and Bendigo Sunday also down over the holiday months.
Still worth visiting but we think from Easter until late spring seems to be the best time to see any country market at their most active.
